Just about one year ago, 2 studies on chromosome segregation were published in Science (Hiruma et al., 2016; Ji et al., 2016). You can read a summary in a stimulating article on LinkedIn.

Now, there is a new publication on chromosome segregation, published in Nature Communications, by Zhang et al., from The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research at the University of Copenhagen.

Intriguingly, all three studies are using MicroScale Thermophoresis to characterize crucial binding events.

The latest publication by Zhang et al., investigates the regulation of chromosome segregation initiated by different binding mechanisms of the BubR1/Bub3 complex to the kinetochore protein KNL1. The work underlines the intriguing complexity of spindle assembly and proper chromosome alignment.
