Specificity of an interaction
In rare cases, increasing concentrations of a ligand can cause changes in TRIC signals that are not specific (not binding-induced). To discriminate between specific and unspecific effects on the Response Amplitude, increase the ligand concentration even further. If saturation can be reached, the effect is specific. In case your sample exhibits a Ligand-Induced Fluorescence Change perform the appropriate Specificity Test to find out whether the observed fluorescence effect is in fact due to binding.
