Peptides

Peptides are short amino acid chains with limited or no higher-order structure. They are often used experimentally as substitutes for whole proteins since they are easy to synthesize and modify. For a typical TRIC assay investigating protein-peptide interactions, it can be most beneficial to use peptides that are terminally labeled with extrinsic Fluorophores, such as Cy5, during peptide synthesis.
