Derrick is Director of US biophysics at WuXi AppTec and a drug discovery leader with 14 years of experience across pharma, biotech, and CRDMO enterprises focused on applying biophysics, biochemistry, and structural biology to hypothesis-driven decision-making in early discovery. Derrick has led and supported programs from target validation through clinical candidate selection, contributing to 19 clinical candidates. The US biophysics team within WuXi AppTec delivers interaction analysis, assay development, hit identification, and problem solving to support a wide array of drug modalities.
With seven years of experience in biotech, Nathan Wallace is a Field Applications Scientist Manager at NanoTemper Technologies. He holds a PhD in Biology and is passionate about supporting cutting-edge drug discovery research through innovative biophysical characterization solutions. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and dog.
Stefan Duhr co-founded NanoTemper Technologies in 2008, guided by a belief that complex biophysical science should be accessible, actionable, and built alongside the scientists who use it. He holds an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Universität Witten/Herdecke and a doctorate in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Today, he leads NanoTemper’s mission to co-create tools that help drug developers move from data to confident decisions, faster.
Hossam Nada is a computational drug discovery researcher at UMass Lowell, working at the intersection of structural biology, cheminformatics, and biophysical validation. His research focuses on developing practical computational approaches for challenging drug discovery problems, including structure-guided ligand design, fragment-based screening, and the identification and optimization of small-molecule binders. He is a co-author of LigandForge, a web-based platform designed to support synthesis-aware de novo ligand generation and lead optimization.
