PEG 8000

Polyethylen glycols (PEGs) are amphiphilic polymers composed of repeating ethylene glycol units. Used as additives, they can improve sample quality by preventing surface Adsorption and Aggregation of biomolecules. For TRIC experiments, the addition of 0.1% PEG 8000 to the reaction mixture can improve signal reproducibility by preventing protein aggregation and suppressing nonspecific protein adsorption to labware.
